| ATMoB and Antique Telescope Society member Alan Sliski’s talk will cover a few aspects of the restoration of a 1916 Warner & Swasey Telescope, and the history around the telescopes made by Warner and Swasey. The idea of first designing, then making, instruments with standard interchangeable parts was pioneered by machine tool builders in the Connecticut River Valley. The telescope that Alan is restoring is a wonderful example of Industrial Art from the Turn of the Last Century, and inspired what we call Steampunk today.
