NASA is the world's most famous space agency, and it's now half a century old. Dr. Jonathan McDowell of the CFA will look back at NASA's first year and explain how it was cobbled together from an already vibrant American space program. He'll also take a look at some of the agency's first space triumphs and setbacks.
