inform us that in this step he prefers to take a neutral position.

MERZARIO SpA

Founded in the 1835 is one of the most important Italian forwarding agent
enterprise with more than 125 branches in the world. The Italian head-
office is in Melzo situated 15 Kilometers from the centre of Milan, with
wharehouse space of 250.000 square meters areas. Directly served by
railway.
During 2000 the consolidated budget was 500 million dollars.

Founded in the 1948 working in the great equipment handling.
The handling to assembly the LBT in Ansaldo Milan have been planned and
completly realized by Mr. Renato Arienti with machinery and own know-out.

1. PACKING SUPPLY DESCRIPTION.
Each items has been dimensioned taking care of the drawing project and
the several survey in order to obtain a true situation and be able to
write a final Packing List. Every case is in accordance with the UNI
9151 specification and although the calculations of the sigma wood
capacity guarantee us about the endurance our engeers have chosen to
stiffen all the bottom cases exceeding 25 tons with steel structures.
2. CASE CAPACITY DRAWING AND LIFTING.
See attaches case drawing sheets No. 641 to 703 with a total of No. 80
cases. In the next step of the job we could submit the load in square
meters of the tops - bottoms and sides of the cases.
1.3 HANDLING DRAWING FOR EACH PACKAGE.
Over each packed case will be marked with handling and lifting points
and centre of gravity, in accordance and under the responsability of
Ansaldo's Project Manager. Then we will write a report with a handling
drawing of the case.
1.4 WARRANTY CERTIFICATE OF MANUFACTURED PACKING.
All the packing are warranted under our direct responsability.
We enclose 'Lloyd's Register Quality Certificate' ISO 9001.
5. LONG TERM STORAGE CONSERVATION.
All the items will be protected from rust and moisture with the
application of vacum barrier bags to specification MIL-B-131H class 1
& 2, see data sheet annex, termowelded at 200њ with specials guns.
To the materials most subject a VCI (Vapour cups inibitor) will be
applied 'Film VCI 126' see data sheet annex.
6. QUARANTINE CERTIFICATE.
The packing will be certify the absence of insects and parasites by
our disinfestor working under license of the Italian Ministery of
Health.
7. SUPERVISOR REPORT PACKING STATEMENT OF WORK.
On the job daily from Ansaldo our supervisor Mr. Luigi Rapizza will
send you a Report about the statement of work.
Professional experience: Mr. Rapizza has worked for more than thirty
years in Ansaldo and the last ten years he was in charge as a
wharehouseman. In 1996-7-8 we have packed the last two of four
Telescopes about the project 'ESO VLT SITE PANARAL' destinated in
Chile. Now in Ansaldo the successor of Mr. Rapizza, the wharehouseman
is close to pension and at the beginning of starting of the work will
be replaced by a new one.
With all the experience of Mr. Rapizza we are sure that this situation
will put us on a firm basis.







1. AREAS ANSALDO LOGISTIC ORGANIZATION.
Messrs. Renato Arienti and Luigi Rapizza have done the planning of the
succession of the items to be packed. There were arrangements to take
for a linear organization of the activities and without the planning
of the areas the activities can stopped.
2. HANDLING PROJECT ITEMS 2-4-6-7.
This items will be handled with special machine and crane as per the
schedules annex. The handling project has been discussed and approved
by our supervisor and Ansaldo's Project Managers.
2.3 POINTS IDENTIFICATION ENTRANCE AND EXIT.
Both of the items mentioned in point 2.2 had trouble to exit from
the
Ansaldo wharehouse doors. We have identified, in according to
Ansaldo, two perimetricals walls to be demolished for exit with
these
items.
4. HANDLING CREMONA PORT UPON RIVER PO, TRUCK LOADING.
In Cremona's port the packages will be handled by machine and crane as
per the schedules annex.We had a prevision of storage in Cremona's
port areas necessary to coordinate the barges loading.
5. HANDLING MARGHERA PORT(VENICE),TRUCKS UNLOADING.
In Marghera Port the packaging will be unloaded from the barges by
machine and crane as per the schedules annex, and left in docks.
6. FOB Incoterms 2000.
All the formalities will coordinated by our supervisor seaway Mr. Remo
Bolzoni.Professional experience: Mr. Bolzoni has worked for the most
important Italian forwarders with great equipment specialization.

7. HOUSTON UNLOADS AND LOADS OPERATIONS.
Houston Merzario center will coordinate all the operations of boat
unloading they will be daily in contact with our supervisor Mr.
Bolzoni.
8. REPORT HANDLING STATEMENT OF WORK.
Our supervisor Mr. Alfredo Goretti will send you daily a Report about
the statement of the works. Professional experience: Mr. Goretti has
worked in the most Italian Heavy Haul company.

3.1 ROAD MEASUREMENT.
In according to the Italians roadway rules, and with the approval
of the
District authorities we have planned the route to use. The map
will be
anned in second step.
2. PERMITS FROM ALL DISTRICT AUTHORITIES.
Under the coordination of our viewer Mr. Goretti, Arienti will be in
charge to produce all the documents and licenses necessary to obtain
the permits of oversize transport.
3. DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY GUARD-RAIL AND TELEPHONE
POLES.
Our supervisor Mr. Goretti has obtained all the insurance
practicable, from the district of ANAS and Telecom Italia, referring
to the route chosen.
4. RIVER BARGES PLANNING.
With the consortium of Po river we have planned all the activities
tied with the river transport.
3.5 FULL CONTAINERS AND CONVENTIONAL VESSEL PLANNING.
Our viewer has coordinated the two lots of delivery, the first
using a Full
Container vessel the second and latest has been planned in a
Conventional vessel.
6. ITALIAN CUSTOM CLEARENCE.
In according to Italian and Usa regulations.
7. Our viewer and seaway coordinator Mr. Remo Bolzoni will send you
daily a Report about the statement of work.

3. INSURANCE.
Completly in accord with your requirements.

4. USA CUSTOM CLEARANCE.
Not required.

5. USA CARRIAGE BY PHH.
Enclosed PHH quotation.
