Program of the visits

The visits are two hours long and will take place even in the case of bad weather; they are conducted by Astronomers of Arcetri with the collaboration of the Technical and Administrative staff of Arcetri.
The places visited during the visits are the Amici Dome, the adjacent Lecture halls and the open areas used for the observations.

The Daytime Visit Schedule:

  • Visit of the Astronomy Park
  • Observations of the solar photosphere and of the sunspots with the Amici telescope
  • Observations of the solar chromosphere with the telescope equipped with H-alpha filter
  • Observations of the cosmic rays and of the natural radioactivity with the cloud chamber
  • Observations of the breakup of the sunlight into its rainbow colors with the spectroscopy

The Nighttime Visit Schedule:

  • Visit of the Astronomy Park
  • Observations of the stars and planets with the Amici telescope and with the other small telescopes
  • Observations of the cosmic rays and of the natural radioactivity with the cloud chamber

In case of poor visibility, alternate activities will be scheduled such as video and talks by astronomers.
