Guided Visits and Observations
For education and public outreach, the Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory opens its doors to the general public by organizing guided visits with observations of the sky.
The visits and the observations are at the following times:
Daytime visits (reserved for schools): every day from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m.
Nighttime visits for groups of up to 35 people maximum takes place in the week of the first quarter moon:
at 21:00 p.m. - from April to October
at 18:30 p.m. and at 21:00 - from November to March
Nighttime visits called "Open Observatory" are held on Saturday evenings and requests from individuals or groups of up to 5 people maximum are welcome.
Entrance
The entrance for the daytime and nighttime visits to Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory is from Via Pian de Giullari, 16 In case there is a need to call or to ask for information on accessibility, please contact the number 055/2752280
The guided visits are organized by Astronomical Association of Arcetri Friends (AAAA) a cultural association for the promotion of scientific knowledge. A voluntary contribution is suggested:
4 euros for children (up to 14 years)
6 euros for high-school students
8 euros for adults
For the contribution, a receipt will be issued at the time of the night visit. A bank transfer can also be made to IBAN coordinates which will be communicated with the confirmation of the visit.
