OUR AMAZING DIGISTAR 3 PROJECTION SYSTEM
A technical triumph
Visitors to Armagh Planetarium's Digital Theatre may look in vain for a giant projector in the centre of the room. Instead the Digistar 3 uses a bank of six video projectors to throw the images on to the Theatre's hemispherical ceiling. With this technology we can project a night sky of exquisite accuracy and beauty on the dome.

Fly the cosmos
For the first time the audience will be immersed in a full-colour 3D experience projected over the entire dome. Planets, stars, galaxies and asteroids can be displayed in full detail as though they are just over the audience's heads. The Digistar 3's advanced computer graphics imagery can easily portray the sky as it would appear from anywhere in the Universe and any time from the distant past to the far future. In a 30 minute star show we can take our visitors hurtling through space from Armagh to the furthest galaxy. Audiences in our Digital Theatre are treated to unparalleled views of the wonders of space in breath-taking detail.
