Armagh Planetarium is Northern IrelandтАЩs foremost institution for astronomy and space education.

A typical school visit to the planetarium begins with your arrival at the building. You and your group will be greeted by one of our Education staff who will outline the activities arranged for your visit.

Your visit is scheduled to be supervised by an Education Officer for two hours.

The group will view a Digital Theatre show appropriate to their age and ability level. The Education Officer will tell you more about this on your arrival. This part of your visit can take between 35 to 60 minutes.

Your group will take part in a science/astronomy workshop. This usually takes between 30 to 40 minutes.

The remaining time is allocated to having lunch (we have a lunch room available), visiting the exhibition area and small group visits to the gift shop.

There are activity sheets available for various age groups to encourage young peopleтАЩs interest in this area.

Any time after your two hour supervision period, we cannot guarantee the presence of an Education Officer but you are welcome to explore the facility.

Please not the Planetarium does not have a cafe on site during weekdays but we can provide you with a lunch room.
