Jeff was a Research Engineer at the University of Washington from September 1990 until April 2004. His responsilities included the maintenance and development of instrumentation for the Manastash Ridge Observatory, a 30" telescope located near Ellensburg, Washington. If you are interested in using this facility for observations please contact Dr. Julie Lutz, who is the current Observatory Director. Details of this facility can be found on the MRO web page and in the MRO Users Manual. After 3/26/04 Jeff will become the Telescope Engineer for the PANstarrs project.

Some of his efforts on behalf of the APO 3.5-m include the following projects. Note that the links below labled as eDrawing documents will require you to load the freeware eDrawings from SolidWorks in order to view these pages. These documents are fairly large and require that your OS be a version of Windows more recent than Windows 95. Do not bother trying to read these pages if you are on a Mac or have an old Windows OS.   • The new NA2 Baffle and the Guiderbox assembly. At this time (3/15/04), this drawing is the most complete description that we have of the inside components that reside in the NA2 port guiderbox. People who are working on instruments that are to mount to the NA2 port of the 3.5-m telescope should be interested in this drawing.

  • The interim baffle report. This report describes the scattered light behavior of the 3.5-m telescope after installation of the M2 and M3 baffles. The results of this report were used as a guide in the design of the NA2 baffle.
