This cool and dreary week saw clouded skies heavy with rain and hail.
Paul Czarapata, Glen Federwitz, John Anderson, and eventually Claudio Rivetta (all FNAL) were on site to commission the telescope's control and interlock systems. Angie Prosapio and Steve Bastian were also able to assist in this effort.
Glen reviewed the newly printed wiring sheets and then compared and tested them to the interlock and control rack on the lower level.
John Anderson studiously checks his settings via the laptop on the lower level.
Paul, John and Angie Prosapio confer on how to test the control without being able to remove the enclosure. Very challenging.
Steve makes his upteenth trip up the metal stairs from the lower level.
Claudio is able to lend his expertise in support of Glen's wiring work.
Despite the poor weather, the word is that commissioning of the interlock and controls system went as planned.
These pictures will remain on this site until 7/30/98 and then stored. Pictures taken by Gretchen Van Doren/Apache Point Observatory.
