FNL Work on Camera Lift, November 6, 1998

John Koreniek and Carl Lindenmeyer (both from FNL) were on the mountain to evaluate the lift for the camera and work on the manipulator arm. Yes, that's them in the photos!!

Captions above photo

Weight is put on the lift (note the hand-held counter) and then the lift is raised.

John and Carl do the "APO-wait-and-see" while the lift holds the load. Luckily, Connie R. was on site and was able to meet with them to characterize the lift/camera's prior interaction.

While Carl and John wait, Steve Bastian (in the background sitting on the deck helps Charlie Briegel work on moving the rotator. All four of us saw it move!

Just so you know, the day was beautiful and the weather is holding during FNL's visit. The dewpoint equaled the humidity down on the basin and they had a thick layer of clouds at about 5,000 ft. Very nice.

John works on a part in the machine shop. I guess the wrong size was sent.

A quick peek at the completed pullout area on the Sloan access road.

the manipulator arm work will happen over the weekend. Photos available later. Photos taken by Gretchen Van Doren/APO.
