SDSS SPECTROGRAPHS

files make dull reading!
Introduction
There are two identical spectrographs, both
permanently mounted to the back of the 2.5m telescope. Using a red
and blue camera, the spectral range is 3900-9100 Angstroms with a
resolution of 2000. Each camera (four in all) uses a thinned
Tektronix 2048x2048 CCD with square 24 micron pixels. Each
spectrograph is fed with 320 optical fibers, which are all-silica
UV-enhanced with 180 micron diameter cores.
