Comments:
The 1.2 slit has a nonreflecting area near
the edge (it was a test part).
This has no effect on science performance
but might make field acquisition confusing with poor coordinates. It
also has an occulting bar in the center of the slit to allow more
varied programs.
There are five spots in the slit wheel. If
you want imaging, you can't have all five slits available, so we only
have 4 available. One slot is open.
The new Marconi CCDs have a 13.5 micron
pixel so the scale is 0.549"/pixel using the original DIS optics (new
optics being built)
