To mount filters in SPIcam's Filter Wheel:

1. remove filter wheel cover plate on the side of SPIcam
2. remove two thumbscrews that hold the wheel in
3. slide out the filter wheel
4. carefully remove the allen head screws that hold each filter in and replace with desired filter (filters are found in the filter cabinet in the computer room)
5. note which filters are in which slot, so you can update the filter file (next)

1. The file is located in spicam's home directory on dryrot.apo.nmsu.edu (login:spicam password: see list)
2. edit the [filters#.txt] file that corresponds to the wheel which you changed. (e.g. filters3.txt for wheel #3)
3. change the filter description for the desired slot, change the update date and initials at top of file
4. if this filter wheel was installed in SPIcam, replace the [filters.txt] file with the contents of the file you just updated:
   

5. > cp filters3.txt filters.txt
   > more filters.txt 

This will let you know that the correct filter file is in place.

Use the command ps ux to find the process and kill it.
