Accessing your data

You should retrieve your science data off from APO computers as soon as possible after it is taken. The current data retention on site is approximately 1 year. Data older than 1 yr will be deleted without warning.

We DO NOT back up data locally here.

Your data can be accessed via TUI, SCP, or FTP only!

TUI has the capability to auto-ftp the data over to your local machine while you are taking the data.

TUI method (recommended)

TUI -> Preferences -> Exposures to gain access to the directory path on your local machine and set the 'auto-get' box to auto-ftp your data to your machine.

SCP method (recommended)

scp <-r> <institution>observer@newton.apo.nmsu.edu:/export/images/<Q#PROG#>/<UTyymmdd>/<filename or filedir>

example: scp UWobserver@newton.apo.nmsu.edu:/export/images/mydata.fits .
