Benchmarks in the literature
- One of the oldes collection of benchmarks in light scattering
looks to be the book of N.C.Wickramasinghe (1973, Light
Scattering Functions for Small Particles with
Applications in Astronomy, Chapman & Hall, London).
It contains a lot of tables of various light scattering
characteristics calculated for different scatterer
shapes (spheres, infinite cylinders), sizes and refractive indices.
Note that some parts of the tables have essential errors
(more detals will be given later).
- Some other less massive benchmark result presentations are
as follows (a preliminary list)
- Voshchinnikov & Farafonov (1985) Opt. Spectrosc. 58, 81.
- Voshchinnikov & Farafonov (1985) Opt. Spectrosc. 59, 750.
- Voshchinnikov & Farafonov (1986) Opt. Spectrosc. 60, 635.
- Mishchenko (1991) J. Opt. Soc. Am. A8, 871.
- Kuik et al. (1992) J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transf. 47, 477.
- Hovenier et al. (1996) J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transf. 55, 695.
- Mishchenko et al. (1996) Appl. Opt. 35, 4927.
- Mishchenko & Mackowski (1996) J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transf. 55, 683.
- Wielaard et al. (1997) Appl. Opt. 36, 4305.
- Mishchenko (2000) Appl. Opt. 39, 1026.
- Voshchinnikov et al. (2000) J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transf. 65, 877.
A recent review of papers of this kind is given by
Mishchenko et al. (2002, Scattering, Absorption, and Emission of Light
by Small Particles, Cambridge Univ. Press).
