Support for Apogee's preflash option is being added to help remove the
latent bulk image artifact that is present in images on Kodak sensors when
they have been exposed to a bright infrared source. The effectiveness of this
hardware feature is being assessed. Until we know more, it is best not to use
it for precision photometry unless you have tested it in your application. The
support will appear in test variants after version 4.1 and should not be used
for critical photometry until we have the camera performance in this mode
fully analyzed.


Operation with the latest Apogee cameras which have a higher speed interface
than the versions we have is untested.
