NASA Find Astronomy Events and Clubs (USA) Widget
Find many free family-friendly astronomy events from the convenience of your website, blog, Google Site, or iGoogle page using the NASA Night Sky Network widget. Go stargazing with a NASA Night Sky Network astronomy club!
To add the widget to your website or blog:
Note: You should be familiar with basic HTML skills in order to add this widget your web site.
1. Copy the following code and paste it into the body of your HTML page in the desired location:
2. The widget will be centered in its container by default. To force it to align to the left, change the text-align property for #NSNwidget from "center" to "left" and the margin statement for the NSNwidgetcontainer id below from "0 auto" to "0".
3. If you want to change the initial value of the Zip field, place the desired value within the VALUE quotes for the Zip field.
4. If you want to change the initial checked state of the radio button from "Clubs" to "Events", remove the "checked" value from the "Clubs" field and add it to the "Events" field.
To add the widget to Google Sites or iGoogle Page:
To add the widget to a GoogleSite page:
Click Edit Page at the top of the page to which you wish to add the widget.
From the menu at the top left, choose Insert > More Gadgets.
A dialog box will appear. Select Add gadget by URL from the left menu.
Type the following URL into the text field: http://nightsky.jpl.nasa.gov/widget/nsngadget.xml
Click Add.
Set the width of the widget to 200, and select pixels from the pulldown menu.
Set the height to 265 pixels.
Uncheck the boxes for scrollbar, border, and title.
Click OK
Click Save at the top of the page to see your updated page.
To add the widget to your iGoogle home page:
Click Add stuff at the top right of your iGoogle page.
Click Add feed or gadget from the bottom of the left menu.
Type the following URL into the text field: http://nightsky.jpl.nasa.gov/widget/nsngadget.xml
Click Add.
You will get a warning dialog box from google, explaining that the widget you are adding comes from us, not Google. Click OK.
Click Back to Google home from the top left of the page.
Drag your widget to the desired space on your iGoogle page.
