Scholarships for Teachers in Grades 3-12
For the Weekend Workshop
August 4 - 5, 2012, Tucson, Arizona
Thanks to the generosity of the Thirty Meter Telescope project at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a limited number of scholarships are available to assist teachers (grades 3 - 12) in attending the weekend workshop at the 2012 ASP Meeting. Please note that these scholarships are available only to U.S. teachers who:
1. have full-time employment as teachers in the 2012-2013 school year;
2. have a significant population of Hispanic or Native American students in their classes.
Before you apply, we encourage you to read the pages that describe the workshop for teachers.
How the Scholarships Work:
- You apply for the scholarship using the short application form.
- If you are accepted, we ask that you register for the weekend workshop and pay the registration fee in advance.
- If you attend both days and fill out the workshop evaluation, we will reimburse you for:
- $40 from the $75 registration fee (meaning you have to pay the other $35), plus
- b. any travel expenses up to $90 (with receipts.)
- Mileage is paid at the rate of 50 cents per mile (as part of the travel expenses)
- All scholarship money will be paid to you after the meeting, once we have verified your attendance and received receipts from you.
