So Where Is Mars Now?

is it the bright star thats to the LEFT (observed from north america) of the moon? and a little lower towards the horizon? Im sorry if this sounds a laymens way of describing direction in space .. but thats what I am, a laymen in astronomy! :)

I ask cause I looked at with my 9mm and 2x barlow and could see it quiet clearly (last night around 10 pm) but ... its NOT red!!
