Hey, amazingly articulate poster!
You apparently don't like the fact that you can optionally buy a copy of the software, which also has precompiled binaries, larger catalogs, includes a printed manual and installation support.
So don't buy it.
He has written what I consider a darn fine program, provided it for download at his own expense, and has been quite helpful to people who people who have had technical problems with his software, as is seen at this site.
It is freeware, not shareware or anything, and you are quite free to leech it and not give any thing back, monetarily or otherwise. If you like it, and find it worth the $, don't hesitate to pay either.
If you have a real gripe, put it up here, preferably in a cogent and non-inflammatory fashion. Otherwise, take your childish flames elsewhere.

(to everybody else, sorry to feed the troll, but wanted to show my support for Downey, who I think quite deserves it)
