Thanks for trying XEphem.

No, you are not missing anything.. there is no filtering that is based literally on catalog. I figured they are pretty easy to unload and reload.

But I can imagine a "Restore default set" in the Databse Control menu might be useful; I'll add it to the TODO list for next time.
