Watch 10 billion particles evolve into 20 million galaxies in this movie of the Millennium Run simulation.
Virgo Consortium astrophysicists used a 25-terabyte databank to create a computer simulation showing cosmic structure's evolution. The scientists gleaned data from the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching, Germany, and Durham University in England to create this realistic computer model.
