Let me tell you about my astronomy club, the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston. In the process, I hope to convince those of you not affiliated with an astronomy club to look into one in your area. I joined the ATMoB (members pronounce it “at mob”) solely to connect with fellow astronomy enthusiasts on a regular basis. Since then, I’ve discovered that there’s much more to an astronomy club than mere socializing. But before my “join an astronomy club” sales pitch, here’s some background on the ATMoB.
