Navigation Pre-Observation Products
What: The ASC navigation team (in collaboration with MBC and JPL MMNAV) will generate a long-term predicted orbit which will be used by the RSOG to generate the long-term schedule.
How: The files will be ASCII text and named with the extension opr.
When: Files will be produced at the request of the RSOG when it has become necessary to revise the long term schedule.
Where: File will be placed in subdirectory /RadioAstron/oddata/predict/long on the RSOG FTP site.
(Long-Term) Predicted Orbit for Scheduling
What: The MBC and JPL MMNAV navigation teams will work together to generate a predicted orbit for the spacecraft that will be used to generate the SRS file. The file will predict the trajectory of the spacecraft 6 weeks in advance. The JPL MMNAV team will make available a predicted orbit in SPICE SPK format.
How: The MBC files will follow the same convention as in Long-Term Predicted Orbit, with suffix opr.
When: Files will be generated monthly for the next month, and weekly for the next week.
Where: MBC NAV files will be placed in subdirectory /spectr/ra/oddata/predict/mid (for the monthly files), and /spectr/ra/oddata/predict/short (for the weekly files) on the GOCG FTP site. JPL MMNAV files will be placed on the DOTS FTP site in the directory /pub/RadioAstron/oddata/pred.
(Detailed) Predicted Orbit for Tracking
What: The MBC and JPL MMNAV team will separately produce predicted orbit files for the GTSs. The MBC will supply the Pushchino GTS and CS, and the JPL MMNAV team will supply the DSN GTSs and the GBTS. These files will be used for GTS antenna pointing and frequency doppler shift predictions.
How: The MBC supplies antenna pointing data and frequency control data to the Pushchino GTS and to CS.
The JPL MMNAV team will supply files in SPICE SPK format named YYMMDD-YYMMDD-p.bsp[.v].gz where the first YYMMDD group is the start date and the second YYMMDD group is the stop date (UTC days). The '-p.bsp' indicates a predicted Binary SPICE format. The '.gz' extension indicates the file is 'gzip'-ed.
When: JPL MMNAV prediction files will be generated twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays (PST). Each file will contain one week's data.
Where: MBC NAV files will be placed in subdirectories /RadioAstron/kudata/nco_predict and /RadioAstron/kudata/antenna/predict on the RSOG FTP site. JPL files will be placed on the DOTS FTP site in the directory /pub/RadioAstron/oddata/pred.
What: C/P-band range and range-rate data received at CS is made available to the MBC navigation group, who in turn provide a predicted orbit which is used at CS to track the spacecraft.
How: The ASCII text files are named YYMMDDHHMMSS.onp, where the time is when MBC make the file available.
When: MBC will supply their results weekly.
Where: The MBC orbit will be placed in subdirectory /spectr/ra/oddata/predict/mbc on the GOCG FTP site.
