The Amateur Astronomers Association of NY is happy to announce a new addition to our “Out of Town” observing sessions that have been so successful.ˆà Thanks to member John Benfatti and the proprietors at Blue Sky Ranch in Gardiner NY, we now have a dark sky location that allows us the option of camping out* and being able to take in the beauty of those early morning celestial objects that elude us at this time of year.
Blue Sky Ranch is a premier skydiving facility in Gardiner NY, that plays host to events such as the North American Skydiving Championships.ˆà Thanks to the owners they have allowed for us to host observing events and have even opened the door for us to camp out overnight provided we do not interfere with skydiving operations.
As this is a new location we are working to identify the best dates to accommodate both the AAA and Blue Sky Ranch schedules but our first observing event isˆàSeptember 14-15.
In order to attend this event we ask that you please register at the following link :ˆàRegistration closed!
