Located at the Hidden Hollow Campground, near Mansfield, Ohio.
and counting.....
(All I need to know is HOW to GET THERE and HOW to REGISTER!)
O.K.... I have gotten several concerned emails about the "Last Time Ever" thing..... Here it is the explanation:
Speakers for this year:
Rick
Fienberg, Editor in Chief of Sky &
Telescope Magazine
Phil Harrington, noted astronomy columnist, lecturer and author
Brent Archinal of the U.S.G.S.
Dave Gill of the Wilderness Center
Additional speakers are possible
Bring your favorite picture, painting or ccd image.
How about a really neat telescope that you have built or is just a unique style.
WE WILL DISPLAY IT FOR EVERYONE TO SEE!!
Sorry, but we are not going to officially have a contest per se, but if
something really wonderful comes in... well you never know.
Overnight camping is available ON SITE!
We have "rustic" cabins available on a first-come-first-served basis. SELF CONTAINED RV's are welcome, tent camping, or rough it out under the stars (or sun if you prefer!).
For those of you who dislike the outdoorsy camping thing, or if you want a little privacy there are several hotels within 7 miles of Hidden Hollow. Located at the intersection of I-71 and State Route 13 (about 10 minutes from Hidden Hollow ‘02):

as some "sit down" places:

Rt. 13 & 71!
MAIN
ATTRACTIONS:
Of course this has to be BIG BLUE, one of the largest FREE Observatories in the
United States!! The mirror is a whopping 31 inches of hand ground fused quartz!
With a focal length of f/7 and ground to within a 1/12 wave, the images she
gives are nothing less than breath-taking!
Combine this with one of the darkest skies in Northern Ohio and you'll have an
experience of a life time.
Our observing site has 360 degrees of open sky down to about 20d above the horizon.
This all sounds good, but how far away are you guys?
We are VERY centrally located in Northern Ohio. Mansfield, Ohio
is about 1/2 way between Cleveland and Columbus on I-71.
Approximate driving times from:
Cleveland (downtown) - 1-1/2 to 2 hours (go South)
Akron/Canton - 1 to 1-1/2 hours (go West)
Toledo - 2 hours (go Southeast)
Columbus - 1 to 1-1/2 hours (go North)
Dayton/Cincinnati - 3 hours (go Northeast)
Pittsburgh - 4 - 5 hours
Chicago - 7 - 8 hours
Detroit - 4 -5 hours
Sydney Australia - about 20 hours but only accessible via plane flight....
HERE IS A MAP: This map is of Central Ohio surrounding the I-71 exit to Hidden Hollow. To find us on a larger map, locate Mansfield, Ohio about 1/2 way between Cleveland and Columbus. There

First, just show up and register at the door: There are two disadvantages to
this: One is the higher price, the other is you can not get the meal package.
THE BETTER WAY: PRE-REGISTER!! You can do this by filling out a registration form and mailing it to us (postmarked by September 20) along with payment in full.
