FAQ

Q: What about the cabins? What are they like?

As you can see, the free cabins we offer with your registration are primitive. They aren't heated, but they are very picturesque and can hold as many as 6-8 visitors in the smaller ones, while the larger dorm style cabins can hold around 50. They aren't fancy, but they are clean and they are sheltered.

Q: What should I bring if I plan on staying inside a cabin?

All bunks are provided with a clean mattress for you to sleep on, but we do not provide bedding or towels. Because they are unheated, you may wish to plan on bringing seasonal clothing and bedding. There is electric light on the inside and some do have outlets.

Q: What are the bunkhouses?

Our bunkhouses are just what the name implies - a large area filled with clean beds with flushing restrooms and hot showers in the basement area. For single guests, this is a preferred area since cabins suit large groups or families. There are two bunkhouses, each capable of holding 50 or more individuals. The bunkhouses to the west and nearest the drive are traditionally male, while the bunkhouses to the east and in the woods are reserved for females.

Q: What about camping?

As you can see, there are plenty of areas to set up a camper or a tent. You are also welcome to sleep in your van or car if you like. Please keep in mind that Hidden Hollow is not a true campground and there are no electric, water or sewer hook-ups. For heavier vehicles, there is plenty of level solid ground and self contained units are always welcome.

Q: What is Sky High Lodge?

Sky High Lodge is a beautiful facility overlooking the mountain tops. It is equipped with restrooms and heat. This is the area in which our vendors set up, offering inside facilities for comfort and safety. Sky View Lodge is also the scene of our Workshops,  some of our Contests, and where our Starlab Planetarium will be set up. The area is very large and pleasant. If you take the stairway down you'll find where our speakers will make their presentations and we show videos during the evening should the weather not cooperate.

More details will be coming soon....
