Postgraduate and Doctoral Programs
Training of postgraduate students (obtaining PhD degrees), applicants for PhD degrees, and candidates for senior doctorate degrees (DSc/DLett) provides highly-qualified research and teaching personnel for V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University.
Today the University has 25 Expert Examining Boards (including 15 Senior Doctorate Expert Examining Boards for conferring senior doctorate degrees) in 48 specialities including 34 specialties in Senior Doctorate Expert Examining Boards.
In 2009/10 academic year in the University Expert examining Boards accepted 17 senior doctorate and 151 PhD dissertations, for the first 6 month of 2010 they accepted 13 senior doctorate and 103 PhD dissertations.
454 postgraduate students undergo training at the University in 67 specialities, the most numerous are: Economics ? 73; Physics and Mathematics ? 70; Philology ? 54; Philosophy ? 50.
118 Doctors of Sciences/Letters and 90 PhDs of the University provide scientific supervision for postgraduate students. The most effective supervisors are Full Professors H.M. Zholtkevych, V.D. Orliv, O.S. Kocharian, V.V. Kalinichenko, V.P. Babych, A.A.Hrytsenko.
