Opening of the conference IV Lunov Readings ?Problems of modern museum communication?
Karazin University held an opening of the conference IV Luniov Readings “Problems of modern museum communication” devoted the 40th Anniversary of the University History Museum. Historians and heads of the museums of Kharkiv higher educational institutions have gathered to participate in the event.
The Presidium comprised First Vice-President for Research, Corresponding Memebr of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine I. I. Zaliubovskyi, Director General of the University Museum Complex, Full Professor Ye. P. Puhach, Dean of the School of History, Full Professor S. I. Posokhov, Executive Director of the Association of University Faculty, Alumni and Friends V. V. Kruhlova and member of Kharkiv Branch of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine N. S. Verbuk.
“Today the Museum has become heart of social life of our University hosting numerous important events. I hope that our Museum various exhibits are interesting not only for the University community but for secondary school pupils of Kharkiv region as well, who are very welcome to visit Karazin University,” said I. I. Zaliubovskyi.
Within the conference framework the audience heard two plenary reports: “40 years of Kharkiv University History Museum: Traditions, achievements, development prospects”, reporter: Full Professor Ye. P. Puhach and “Afanacii Lunov; spiritual and religious worldview”, reporter: historian P. A. Lunov.
“Lunov Readings is a tradition uniting the Museums of all the higher educational institutions of Kharkiv. We spared no effort in creating a living museum and we have succeeded for the Museum is not only informative but also inspiring its visitors. The Museum today is a real science center, a place not only for keeping information, but for cultivating professionals and educating citizens”, said S. I. Posokhov.
During the course of the conference its participants tackled quite a number of problems” prospects and directions of the Museum Complex development, new museum technologies, museum pedagogy, attractiveness and rich content of a museum exhibit, etc.
