On March 20, 2012 the University Trade Union Committee held a reporting conference of the Primary Trade Union Organization of the University. The conference heard and discussed reports on the work of the Primary Trade Union Organization of the University and that of the control and auditing commissions of the Committee for the period between March 2011 and March 2012.

 In his report the Head of the Primary Trade Union Organization provided analyzed the following matters:

•  execution of the resolutions of the reporting conference of 2011;
•  social protection of the employees;
•  fulfillment of the Collective Agreement;
•  work on ensuring healthy and safe working conditions;
•  cooperation with the University Administration and public events;
•  sports work, health improvement, recreation management and organization of public cultural events for the University staff and their children;
•  cooperation with higher trade union bodies;
•  participation of the trade union representatives in the work of the Social Insurance Commission;
•  work prospects for the Primary Trade Union Organization Committee.

 It was pointed out that the work of the Primary Trade Union Organization Committee aimed at implementing the resolutions adopted at the trade union meeting in March 2011; supporting the Program of the main areas of the trade union work adopted at the IV Plenum of the Committee of Kharkiv Regional Organization of the trade union of employees in education and science, implementing the program resolutions of the VI Convention of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine.

 The conference found the work of the Primary Trade Union Organization Committee satisfactory; approved the report of the control and auditing commissions; passed a resolution defining the following tasks for the Committee for the next working period: to continue work on protection of social and economic rights and interests of the employees; to ensure effective control of the implementation of the labor laws at the University; to engage more young people in the trade union work; to continue work on strengthening and expanding trade union relations with the trade union organizations of the region and Ukraine.
