On February 22, 2014, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University held a regional student scientific conference “Foreign Languages in the World Economic and Legal Environment” organized by the Department of Business Foreign Language and Translation (School of Foreign Languages), the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business, and the School of Economics and engaging 77 participants.

Professor V. Sidorov, Dean of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business, addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech and wished them fruitful work

The conference discussed the role of foreign languages in hotel business, advertisement and PR, international economic relations, and international economics. It also tackled the problems of interaction between foreign languages and international law.

Within the scope of the conference the representatives of international companies working in Ukraine delivered lectures for students. N. Reva, Marketing Director of the Omega Avtopostavka (Kharkiv) and M. Asev, Brand Manager of the Anheuser Busch InBev Central and Eastern Europe (Kyiv), told future specialists in international economic relations and travel business and translators/interpreters about the specifics of work at companies targeting international markets where command of foreign languages is required.

The participating students presented their works executed in English and devoted to actual problems of modern economics and international law.
