Students of higher educational institutions of Ukraine are entitled to the Prize for the best probability theory related research. The competition is primarily meant to encourage students’ research in this field.

The competition winners will be given an opportunity to report at the seminar of the Division of Theory of Stochastic Processes of the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and a right (upon review) to have the results published in the journal “Theory of Stochastic Processes”.

The deadline for submitting works is April 30, 2013.

The winners are expected to be awarded in May, 2013.

For reference. Anatoliy Volodymyrovych Skorokhod was a distinguished Ukrainian mathematician of late XX century, founder of many new trends in research of the Theory of Stochastic Processes. He introduced into science a great number of notions and methods of contemporary stochastic analysis, namely: Skorokhod topology, Skorokhod space, one stochastic space method, method of introducing stochastic sequences into the trajectory of continuous processes, stochastic differential equations for processes with limits, extended stochastic integral, random (strong and weak) linear operators, etc.
