Measurement principle

Computer simulation of TVC field of viewOne of the tasks of «Poperedzhennja» (WARNING) program is observation ionosphere’s emission in visible and infrared spectrum range from satellite’s board looking-for heralds of earthquakes. It’s needs solution satellite’s orientation problem for defining location of sources of ionospheric emissions above Earth’s surface with necessary accuracy. There is possibility to define orientation of photometric devices by using TV images of star background.

The CCD TV camera is designed for recording of images of star sky, Earth’ limb and adjoining part of Earth’ surface to fix the orbit point coordinates during the measurements by FAGOT and SICH-F devices. An additional task of TVC is receiving of large-scaled picture of ionospheric glow distribution.

Experiment configuration

CTV consists of the camera unit CU and the processing unit PU. CU consist of the input lens, filters wheel, CCD frame transfer area array sensors, preamplifier, double correlation sample, amplifier, temperature control. In PU are 12 bit ADC, 4 x 256K x 12 bit video memory, control logic and interface RS485.

Operation

Orientation of the TVC optic axis: parallel to axis I of the FAGOT instrument.

The experiment has next modes of operation: recording of images of the star sky and Earth’ limb; storing of the data and their transmission; testing of device.
