The story of the Christmas star: UNAWE Astro-Art Fun workshops in Armagh
A hearty Merry Christmas to everyone on Planet Earth from the Children in Armagh!
Photos from the UNAWE Astro-Art Fun workshops held by Miruna Popescu from Armagh Observatory at the County Museum, Armagh, in the first week of December 2009. About 200 primary school children took part in the workshops which had as central theme the story of the Christmas star. What was the bright star that led the three wise men to the little village of Bethlehem? Was it a comet? A supernova? Or maybe a bright planetary alignment? Children have made their own interpretation of the story on the individually designed Christmas cards.
