The Horsehead Nebula
Another crisp and high-resolution image sent by Bob English from Franklin, TN. USA. He says: "This is one of the first images I took with a new setup, using a Televue 85 telescope (85mm aperture) with a 0.8x telecompressor to give a focal ratio of f5.6. I used an SBIG ST-2000XCM CCD camera for the image. The camera is pretty nifty, and guides itself by sending corrections to the motors on the telescope mount. No filters were used other than a broad-band light-pollution filter. Total exposure time was about 4 hours. It was a rather chilly 15 degrees Fahrenheit outside that night, so I was kind of glad to let the scope do the work while I kept warm."
