As of January 2003, there were 1,750 links to this site from other web sites, according to Google.
a. Traffic for November was almost 3 times that of the next highest month.
b. The Google search engine generated more referals than any other.
c. By far the commonest search terms leading to the site were permutations of Leonid, meteor, shower. The next most popular search term was William Herschel.
d. The Microsoft Internet Explorer browser was used twice as often as Netscape.
e. Most requests came from Windows operating systems followed by Unknown, Unix and Macintosh. Only 942 page requests came from WebTV systems.
f. 44% of data transferred was image files and 13% was Postscript files.
g. 18% of data transferred was from Simon Jeffery's directories, 13% was preprints and 12% was from the Leonid directories.
h. Ignoring the icons which appear on all of the sites pages, the most requested file was the 1833 Leonids image and the most requested page was the Leonids dust trails.
a. Traffic for November was over twice that of the next highest month due to the popularity of David Asher's Leonid meteor predictions. On the 17th November traffic was almost 5 times the daily average.
b. More referrals came from the Google search engine that from any other source. The most common search terms were combinations of 'leonid' and 'meteor'. 'william herschel' also ranked highly.
c. 47% by volume of the data served was from Simon Jeffery's directories. 8% by volume was the preprint series. 5% was the history pages and 4% was the Leonid pages.
d. The most popular page was the Leonid 2002 predictions and the most popular image was the diagram on that page.
a. The statistics do not cover a full year but only the June to December period.
b. The most requested file was the Introduction to Climate Research.
