Armagh Observatory

Dull and Wet July

Armagh Observatory reports that July was wetter, duller and cooler than average.

Rainfall amounted to 105.6 mm (4.16 inches), that is, almost 70% more than the most recent 30-year (1981-2010) average for July.

The number of hours of sunshine was 107.7, that is, about 21% below the most recent 30-year average.

The mean monthly temperature was 14.4 degrees Celsius (57.9 degrees Fahrenheit), which is about 1.3 degrees C below the most recent 30-year average for July. The maximum temperature recorded was 21.3 degrees C on the 5th. The minimum air temperature was 5.6 deg. C (12th).

These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
