Armagh Observatory reports that last month was milder, duller and slightly drier than average.
December Milder and Duller
The mean monthly temperature for December was 5.8 degrees Celsius (42.4 degrees Fahrenheit) compared with the average figure of 4.7 degrees C. There were 7 nights with air frost and 10 nights with ground frost.
The total sunshine for the month was 32.2 hours, that is, slightly less than the average of 37 hours.
Rainfall amounted to 67.9 mm, that is, almost 20% less than the average December value of 83.6 mm.
These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
