Armagh Observatory reports that August was slightly drier and warmer than average.
August Slightly Warmer and Drier
Rainfall amounted to 62.1 mm, that is, about three-quarters of the average August value. Over half of the rain fell on three days.
The mean monthly temperature was 15.5 degrees Celsius, slightly more than the average figure of 14.7 degrees.
The total sunshine for the month amounted to 103.3 hours, that is, about 20% lower than average.
These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
