Armagh Observatory reports that September was cooler and slightly drier than average.
Cool September
The mean monthly temperature was 11.7 degrees Celsius (53.0 degrees Fahrenheit), somewhat lower than the average value of 12.7 degrees C. There was one night with a ground frost, the 24th.
Rainfall amounted to 68.0 mm (2.68 inches), compared with the average monthly figure of 76.2 mm (3.0 in).
The number of hours of sunshine was 106.4, close to the norm of 105 hours.
These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
