According to meteorological readings from the Armagh Observatory, February was slightly milder, sunnier and drier than average.
Weather in February
The mean monthly temperature was 5.1 degrees C, or 0.9 degrees higher than the average February figure of 4.2 degrees C. There were 20 nights with ground frost and 6 nights with air frost.
The total number of hours of sunshine for February was 70.6, compared with the average figure of 65 hours.
Precipitation for last month amounted to 39.4 mm, compared with the average value of 58.7 mm.
These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
