Subject: Sunspot, SUN day & ISS

Hi all,

In case you haven't seen it, there was a nice naked-eye spot on the Sun 
recently (didn't get a chance to check today, so don't know if it's still as 
big).

I hope it will still be on view for the IAA 'SUN Day' at the Wildfowl & 
Wetlands Trust, Castle Espie, near Comber, Co Down on, of course, Sunday. We 
start about 2.0 & finish about 4.30, and we'll have a selection of telescopes 
with projection systems, Solar Filters, and Jacqui Milligan's amazing 
Coronado 'scope which images in H-Alpha light, showing the prominences, and 
detail on the surface not normally visible.

In addition we'll have Julie Thompson & her fantastic mobile inflatable 
planetarium show, so there'll be something for everyone, even if it's cloudy. 
Admission free to IAA members, others pay a small admission charge.

Finally, the Space Shuttle Endeavour finally launched yesterday, so you might 
just get a chance to see it & the ISS, if they haven't docked yet. Or if they 
have, the combined craft will appear a lot brighter than the ISS on its own.
