Hale-Bopp Finding Chart 2

Hale-Bopp Finding Chart for 2nd March 1997

View from Armagh looking towards the North-East at 4.00 a.m. on 2 March 1997. The comet is best seen with binoculars, but viewed with the naked eye both the head and the tail should be easily visible. To get your bearings, note the three bright stars that make up the "summer triangle", namely Vega, Deneb and Altair, and the two small constellations, Sagitta and Delphinus. The comet moves into the evening sky after the middle of the month.
