View from Armagh looking towards the East at 5.00 a.m. on 2nd February 1997. As seen with the naked eye, the comet will appear as a faint, misty patch of light, but the head of the comet, known as the "coma", and its tail should be easily visible with binoculars. To get your bearings, note the three bright stars that make up the "summer triangle", namely Vega, Deneb and Altair, and the small constellation, Sagitta.
