Incoherent scatter ionoshere diagnostics subdivision

The SDC incoherent scattering ionosphere diagnostics subdivision consists of scientific and engineer groups : 4 Ph.D., 2 postgraduates and 3 engineers.

The main subdivision instrument is the Incoherent Scatter Radar.

The Incoherent scatter ionosphere diaiagnostics subdivision's main tasks are:

• Obtaining experimental data for the ionospheric structure and dynamics by incoherent scatter method;
• development of signal registration and processing mehtods at the Irkutsk IS Radar;
• IS Radar registration complex modernisation;
• discussion and fulfillment of two-frequency ionosphere modification experiment; 
• experimental data analysis and modelling;
• theoretical research;
• setting up and maintaining the IS database.
