Anna Mel'nik - Description of the catalog

The Catalog of Line-of-sight Velocities
and Proper Motions of
the OB Associations

Notation

OB-ass. - the name of OB-association from C.Blaha and R.M.Humphreys list (1989);
l - the mean galactic longitude;
b - the mean galactic latitude;
r - the mean heliocentric distance, which equals r=0.8 rBH, where rBH is the mean heliocentric distance from Blaha and Humphreys' catalog (1989), for more details see the paper by Dambis et al (2001);
Vr - the median line-of-sight velocity of the stars of the OB-association, km s-1 ;
dvr - the estimation of the line-of-sight velocity dispersion in the OB-association, km s-1 ;
nr - the number of stars in the OB-association with known line-of-sight velocitiy, which were taken from the catalog of M.Barbier-Brossat and P.Figon (2000); only velocities with estimation errors less than 10 km s-1 were taken into account;
mul - the median proper motion along galactic longitude of the stars of the OB-association, in units of 0.001 arcsec year -1 ;
dml- the estimation of mul dispersion in the OB-association, in 0.001 arcsec year -1 ;
mub - the median proper motion along galactic latitude of the stars of the OB-association, in units of 0.001 arcsec year -1 ;
dmb- the estimation of mub dispersion in the OB-association, in 0.001 arcsec year -1 ;
nm - the number of stars of the OB-association with known proper motion from HIPPARCOS catalog (1997).
Nt - the total number of stars in the OB-association with known photometry from the catalog by Blaha and Humphreys (1989)
