       Thanks for writing!
      Outside our window, the sky is hazy and the playground is clear, except for a few kids playing basketball. The temperature is about 62 degrees. At this moment, there is no threat of rain, but it's expected tomorrow. Almost any day of the year here in Salinas, California USA could be considered a day to do some gardening, as long as the rain doesn't force us in, and it usually doesn't.
      We are 20 miles away from the Pacific Ocean. As I write this, there is a famous golf tournament going on. Famous people like Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood, and Tiger Woods play at the world famous courses near Carmel, California.
       As for snow, well, we haven't had snow stick to our ground since 1962. Usually, the coldest it ever gets around here is 0 degrees C.
I wish I had checked my email earlier today so I could have had my
students write more about January 30th in Salinas, CA.
