Skobel'tsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics, Moscow State University, Leninskie Gory 1, Moscow, 119992 Russia Abstract. An optical detector that is part of the research equipment system installed aboard the MSU research educational microsatellite Universitetskiy--Tat'yana and intended to study the atmosphere in the ultraviolet spectrum is described. The method of digital oscilloscope was applied for recording time profiles the atmosphere glow intensity in a wide range of durations. Intense Ultraviolet flashes have been detected in equatorial region of the Earth. Examples of temporal profile of flashes recorded by the detector, there geographical coordinates distribution and measured atmospheric radiation intensities including Aurora light are given.
