Structure of the supersmall satellites |
Scientific equipment |
Supersmall satellite "Universitetskiy" is manufactured by Production Corporation "Polyot" (Omsk, Russia) in the interests of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Supersmall satellite "Kompas-2" is a pilot project of multi-satellite system which is intended for prediction and motnitoring of natural and technologenical disasters. This system is developed in terms of the Russian Federal space program for 2001-2005 confirmed by Rosaviakosmos. The Federal space agency is the customer of the project, the R&D electromechanical Institute is the head subdivision, Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere and Radiowave Propagation (IZMIRAN) and the Makeev state rocket center are contractors of the project.

The scientific equipment "Tatiana" described in the Table 3.2 is a part of the measuring complex of the "Kompas-2" satellite, which is developed for the detection and registration of the abnormal physical phenomena resulted from seismic activity, for their operative analysis and selection of the strong earthquakes precursors, and also for the global monitoring of the abnormal seismogenic phenomena and their consequences.
The scientific complex of the "Kompas-2" satellite includes the following equipment produced by Russian, foreign and joint companies: ULF/VLF wave complex, double-frequency transmitter "Mayak", GPS measuring instrument, scientific equipment "Tatiana", radio-frequency analyser.
