Crater Gassendi

Once more Gassendi crossed my path. I made this drawing was made on the 26th of november 2001. If you compare this one with the previous drawing of Gassendi (below) the differences are clear. The only thing that was different between the observations was seeing/turbulence. The 26th of november proved to be an evening with very good conditions to observe the moon. I mostly used a 150x magnification to search for the details.

Crater Gassendi

This drawing was made on the 28th of september 2001. After nearly a full month without observations I had a one hour gap between the thicker clouds. During the observations (100x magnification) I was continuously plagued with thin layers of clouds passing by.

Craters Grimaldi/Riccioli

This drawing was made on the1st of septembert 2001. Once more under less good conditions, with the moon partly covered in haze and still low in the sky. The craters are clearly a bit too much rounded (stretched)

Crater Gassendi

This drawing was made on the 29th of august 2001. Although the seeing was bad the fact that the crater was on the terminator did help me out a bit. The drawing was made in a hurry since clouds pushed in from the south.

Rupes Recta

This drawing was made on the 27th of august 2001. I had luck that the seeing was rather good. Rima Birt and its corresponding crater Birt E were seen. Also the layered walls of Thebit were clearly visible.

Rima Ariadaeus

This drawing was made on the 25th of august 2001. Rima Ariadaeus was at that moment close to the terminator and therefore the shadows are rather long. Especially near crater Silberslag a very clear peak has its shadow casted.

Crater Posidonius

This is one of my first drawings. The image shows Crater Posidonius (95 km) and several features.
